This course aims
to educate the student to practitioner standard. It demands commitment and application on the part of the student.
The course offers training in all aspects of homeopathy-from philosophy and theory to practical clinical application. Integrated
Human Science is included. The level of competence demonstrated is sufficient for graduates to apply for inclusion into one
of several professional registers of homeopaths.
As students progress throught the course, the subjects will increase
in depth and level of integration. Teaching over the four year course is specially designed to facillitate a smooth steady
transition from student to confident, competent homeopaths.
The first year is a Foundation Year, by the end
of which students will have gained a basic understanding of the principles of homeopathic philosophy, and a working
knowledge of how to select and administer homeopathic remedies in acute situations. The following three years focus on developing
students' skills as professional homeopaths and beginning to build up their practices.
Students also need to accumulate 150 clinic hours by attending the college clinic from year 2 and sitting
in on consultations with experienced homeopaths.
Casework
Casework is the careful analysis
of a patient's condition and treatment. It is a skill practised in all areas of the curriculum rather than
being a separate subject of study.
The first year of the course provides a foundation in homeopathic
knowledge. It should give students the skills and confidence to be able to treat family and friends with
simple complaints, as well as providing a ‘grounding’ in the basics of homeopathy. From
the very beginning, the College will encourage students to begin to apply their knowledge to simple, everyday situations.
In the second
year, students begin their formal clinical training. Initially, students observe consultations with patients and participate
in the case analysis and discussion. To become a Practical Homeopath, the College believes that students should
start dealing with patients as soon as possible. It is only through the experience of taking cases and dealing with patients
that students become competent and confident practitioners.
Accredited Qualification
Graduates receive a Licentiate in Homeopathy, the standard qualification for
practice in the UK. This qualifies students for membership of a professional body and to start their own practice.
The course involves external study and clinical work, with the emphasis on developing and demonstrating clinical ability.
The course is held over 10 weekends from October to July over a 4-year period.
Annual Fees
Fees
for the academic year beginning October 2010 are £2000 and can be paid in full or in 10 monthly instalments. Please
