Fees for the academic year beginning October 2015 are £2,200 if paid in full or £2,300 if paid in 10 monthly instalments. Please note that annual fees remain due should you decide to leave the course part way through a year. Course fees for the three year course total £6600, £2200 paid at the beginning of each academic year for three years or £6900, £2300 paid monthly over 10 months, September to and including June each year .  Course fees for the four year course total £7700, £2200 paid at the beginning of each academic year for three years and £1100 for the fourth year or £8000, £2300 paid monthly over 10 months, September to and including June for the first three years then £1200 paid monthly over 10 months for the fourth year.

Annual fees include attendance at the college lecture weekends, the clinics plus handouts and marking costs. Student membership of the ARH and practitioner insurance (£85 per year ) and the cost of textbooks are not included in the fees.

Professional and Career Development Loans

The Southern college of Homeopathy is registered as a Learning Provider with the Professional and Career Development Loans (PCDL). Students who successfully complete the foundation/1st year course can apply for a PCDL to enable them to complete the Homeopathic Licentiate Professional Course (PT)-24 months/2nd and 3rd years. Students transferring into the 2nd or 3rd year at Southern College of Homeopathy from other colleges are also able to apply for a PCDL.

Overview

Professional and Career Development Loans are bank loans to pay for the courses and training that help with your career or help you get into work. You may be able to borrow between £300 and £10,000 (maximum is the cost of the course so for the Homeopathic Licentiate Professional Course (PT)-24 months/2nd and 3rd years the maximum would be £4000.

Loans are usually offered at a reduced rate and the government pays the interest while you’re studying.

How to apply

  1. Find out which banks offer the loan and order an application pack by calling the National Careers Service on 0800100900
  2. Fill in the application form for the course titled Homeopathic Licentiate Professional Course (PT)-24 months.
  3. The bank will then decide if you qualify for a loan.
  4. You take out the loan with the bank and agree to their repayment conditions.

You should apply 3 months before your course starts to give the bank enough time to process your application.

If you’re on benefits check with your benefits office before you take out a loan as it may affect your benefits.

To apply you must:

  • Be over 18 years old
  • Have been living in the UK for at least 3 years before your course starts
  • Plan to work in the UK, European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA) after the course

Repayments and interest on the loan

You start repaying the loan (plus interest at a reduced rate) 1 month after leaving your course. The government pays the interest while you study and for 1 month after you leave your course, after this time you begin repaying the loan and interest.

You have to repay your loan even if you don’t complete the course or your course provider goes out of business.
